Dr. Kouo Ngamby is currently the Head of Maternal Health in the Ministry of Public Health of Cameroon and is also an Assistant Lecturer in Public Health for the Medical School at the University of Douala, Cameroon. In 2006, she received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Yaoundé, after which she completed a residency in Public Health. Dr. Kouo Ngamby also received her Master of Public Health degree from Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2008. Although she has deep experience in HIV and reproductive health, Dr. Kouo Ngamby's foci in maternal health include the prevention and treatment of obstetric fistula, prevention of gender-based violence, family planning, and strengthening health systems. Accordingly, Dr. Kouo Ngamby's research focuses on strengthening surgical systems, improving trauma care, and evidence-based injury and violence prevention. Dr. Kouo Ngamby served as the local study supervisor for the pilot trauma registry at the Central Hospital of Yaoundé, the findings of which led to the creation of an Injury Committee by the government of Cameroon. Dr. Kouo Ngamby is currently a co-investigator for the study protocol "A National Trauma Registry to Inform Policy in Cameroon."
